Wind Mobile

The legendary Peter of Peter’s Useful Crap first put me onto this: Wind Mobile is offering some truly low-priced options. I don’t know if the $20/month unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting is still available, but even if not, the $40/month deal they’ve extended til Jan 16th looks impressive. Surprisingly they don’t provide coverage in Yellowknife, so I’m outta luck. But still, I’m happy for all you folks out there.

Cool beans! Well, at least for most of Canada. As a fellow ‘Knifer I’m stuck with Bell Mobility. However before the holidays I called customer service and re-jigged my plan, and it’s saving me nearly half of what I used to pay (as I used to require unlimited long distance to all of Canada/US for when I was a student, and for a while up until October of this year). It’s a pretty great feeling!

Although, I can’t help but feel I’m still paying too much for what I get, but it’s really my only option as I don’t have a landline. Thinking of going that route with home ownership and bididng the iPhone adieu down the road…
