You can guess what I’d do with it:  social housing.

But there are lots of other great options:

  1. increased/improved public transit
  2. investing in alternative energy
  3. helping out the Cambie merchants

Readers:  it’s your money!  (if you’re in BC).  What would you want the provincial gov’t to do with it?  (and giving it back to us is an option too!)

  1. I would love to see the tuition fee increase we just went through at UBC be eliminated!
I also definitely support social housing and more care facilities for the mentally ill.
but… neither of those things are probably going to happen. Perhaps a biggers, newer, shinier, Olympic stadium?

  2. I look at the cut backs in education and the lack of adequate health care and doctors as well as social housing and think it would be good to put it towards some or all of those. Not to mention daycares. But perhaps it would be better to start a fund like a Heritage fund and contribute regular surpluses to that – in time there would be a lot of money for other things. Or maybe we should pay down the debt? Too many options and maybe not enough money??

  3. I’m a big fan of eliminating debt first… unless you predict a higher rate of return from another investment.
