I have to disagree with the Wikihow article about busking. It sais in step 1: "You don't have to be great at what you do in order to busk". From my experience of 14 years as a busker, only the best acts survive. Busking is no different from stage performing in the respect of competition, especially in big cities such as NYC, Paris, etc. Competition from other buskers is fierce and audiences at such cities have come to expect the best.
